What readers are saying about The Adventist Home Educator

“Thanks for the resources you provide. It saves me a lot of research and possibly costly mistakes. I don’t know how you find the time, but thank you!” L. E., CA

“Thanks again for your service. What a blessing!” G. D., OR

Handbook

“Just a note to say that I’ve been trying to find something that the Holy Spirit has impressed me about that you don’t mention in the AHE Handbook. Just when I think, ‘Aha! That’s it! You haven’t written about XYZ.’ I turn to the next page and, ‘Oh! there is it!’” D.S., England

“I LOVE the Handbook and refer to it very often. Keep up the good work. We all appreciate it so much! Thanks!” J.S., MN

“This is a wonderful ministry! Whatever you do, don’t quit! I can hardly put down the AHE Handbook. I am a trained teacher and this is the most helpful homeschool book I have ever seen!” J.T., CA

“Your Handbook helped me realize I am not alone. Thank you.” M.W., NV

“I think the AHE Handbook is one of the most helpful tools I’ve seen in a long time and I’ve homeschooled for twelve years!” B.L., VA

“I love the AHE Handbook. I wish I had had it before I began homeschooling. It is full of helpful information; EGW quotes on education, Biblical texts referring to raising our children, and resources for different materials along with the author’s personal conservative SDA (Seventh-day Adventist) viewpoint on the materials offered. When I was unsatisfied with our current curriculum and didn’t know what else to use that was SDA, the AHE Handbook had other SDA options listed for me to choose from. When I wanted to find unit studies to use the Handbook informed me of an SDA unit study for her age, based on Creation. It’s helpful for me to read a review that is written by someone with a similar Biblical viewpoint as me.” T.N.

“Your Handbook is a gold mine to me. I’ve been praying and praying for His help. Your Handbook is one of the many doors that He opened to me. Praise the Lord and I thank Him for your ministry.” P. E., CA

“By the way, I just LOVE the Adventist Home Educator Manual!! It is sooo full of information, I am just in awe. I am so glad God led me to you and I was able to get this valuable information from you. R.S.

“I just wanted to let all of the families on this list know that if you don’t have a copy of the Adventist Home Educator Handbook, you need to get it. I just got mine a few days ago. I wish I’d had it two years ago. It would have made a great difference in our last two years of homeschooling. It should be required reading for any SDA (Seventh-day Adventist) homeschooling family.” B.Z., FL

“Thank you so much for all the inspiring information and ideas in your book The Adventist Home Educator Handbook. I have borrowed it from a friend but I would like my own copy. This has been an answer to my prayer for guidance. Thank you so much. I long to develop ‘True Education’ for my children.” B. S., MN

“Praise the Lord! I just received The Adventist Home Educator Handbook. Thank you for sending it so quickly. This is truly an answer to prayer. God led me to this information because I had no idea it even existed. May God bless you richly as you continue this wonderful ministry with Him.” M.H., TN

“The handbook has been a great blessing for me. I wish I had known about it when I first began homeschooling four years ago. I could have saved myself a great deal of heartache and trouble, and my dear son a lot of frustration with his mom!” J.M.

“Just wanted to thank you again for all your hard work in putting together the AHE newsletter and the AHE Handbook. I have found both of them to be such a blessing!” J.C., WV

“I just want to say that I’ve read your Handbook and I thank the Lord for it. It is truly very helpful and absolutely wonderful!” A.M., TX

“Your AHE Handbook has been such a blessing! I hadn’t known such a thing existed until a friend loaned me her copy. I’ve already read my own ‘latest edition’ from cover to cover. I’m preparing to homeschool and the Handbook has been a God send to help me sort through the multitudes of materials that are available.” J. P., VA

“Thank you for putting the AHE Handbook together, I find it very realistic and encouraging.” R. B., MI

“The Handbook is the very best SDA (Seventh-day Adventist) resource for SDA homeschoolers. It has been invaluable to me and is so organized and thorough.” C. R., TN

“I received the copy of The AHE Handbook and have been having fun reading it ever since. You have done an incredible job in putting all this information together. I hesitated to buy it as I imagined that there would not be much that I didn’t already know since I have been homeschooling for 20 years. Therefore I was happily surprised to find that there was quite a bit of useful material that I did not already know. Your book is a wonderful tool for all SDA homeschooling moms!” K.J.

“May I put in a plug for The AHE Handbook? It is a wealth of information. I can’t tell you how much I have benefited from it. I have used it as my curriculum guideline this year.” R.J., TX

“You have done a great job on The AHE Handbook. Thanks for all your research and the terrific organization. I wish that I would have had it 15 years ago when I first started homeschooling.” M.K., OR

“A friend purchased The Adventist Home Educator Handbook for me in my search for what God wants for my six-year-old son. What a God send! So thorough and practical, yet so personal! I am very grateful for the advice and encouragement of those who have gone before.” C.K., Canada

“Your newsletter has been a great source of encouragement and spiritual support to me time and time again.” L. M., LA

Website
“I can’t say enough on how your website has helped me get back on track. Of course I’ve been through the usual: the school shunned me, my husband was constantly questioning me, and yes everyone said “What about socializing?” Your site has brought me closer to home, God’s of course and literally brought tears to my eyes. You have given me tangible resources and I could feel friendship. You care for our children and want only the best with the best thing God ever gave to us, His children. They are not ours and we have a job to do!” S.K.

It has been invaluable to me to have such wonderful wise and kind ladies to talk to, share with and encourage. Tamara

I have enjoyed reading the different topics. It is nice to know I am not the only one out there dealing with some of the same issues I have seen discussed. Barbara

This list was my church family and I will never forget all that you all meant to me during those lonely months, that stretched into years. You were my friends, church family, sisters, mentors, you all mean a lot to me. No one understands the inner me like another Adventist. Like you all. In so many places and ways in my life i don’t fit in, the most important parts of me are not like most other people, but you all understand. Adventists, homeschooling wives and mothers, all the really important parts of me.
God bless, Sherri

This list is SO amazing. You all encourage and educate me. You inspire me. You make me laugh. You provide information and motivation for me to use at home and share with other home-schoolers who can’t get at our list directly. And besides that, many of you have taken the time to actively participate in one of my children’s hands-on learning experiences. What a blessing! ht

This list has given me companionship. Like Sherri R. did, I live in a very…well, “interesting” place. I am very alone here. For instance, my children are the only SDA kids in LaPine. I doubt if there is another vegetarian anywhere near. You cannot buy a whole grain anything without driving at least 30 miles. If you don’t hunt, fish, smoke, chew, drink beer or at least Mountain Dew, you just don’t fit in around here (Jeff Foxworthy would love this place!). I have no idea what we are doing here. But I have my list sisters!! They support the way we live and are always sympathetic and ready with prayers when needed. Not only do I get ideas and support from you all, it gives me an opportunity to share what I’ve learned through 12 years of hs-ing my boys. Helping others has blessed me. I feel a bond with all of you, and can’t wait to give you all a big hug in Heaven!!

Love, Lisa G. (Matt 17, Garrett 15, Colin 10, Wyatt 4, Lane 2)

This list has provided so much support for me this last year. This has been a hard year. Partly because of my own depression and reaction to circumstances. But I was so blessed to have been here on this list during that time. The MANY times that I cried out to you someone ALWAYS wrote a caring and compassionate answer to my cries; sometimes on list, sometimes off. You always led me back to He who cares the most and longs for the time when He can wipe out all our tears and sadness. When I was the most depressed two of you even called me on the phone to chat and check on me. WOW! Through allowing yourselves to be used by God you brought such joy to my tortured mind. When I didn’t know where to turn for answers to situations someone was always ready to lend an ear an offer up Godly wisdom. It was through the love of people on this list that God was able to bring me healing. I am now attempting to learn to bloom where I am planted (or transplanted). Thanks to you ALL, Pam Z. (who would still love to be blooming somewhere else)

I have appreciated the AHE list very much. Though I am a “retired” home school mom I enjoy learning more and new ways to homeschool successfully so I may share with others. I feel a kindred spirit with the other homeschooler parents as they share their struggles and needs plus the bright times when things go in a positive way. Val M.
